Useful Tips

Here are a few useful ideas you might want to think about!

Make a list of who to ask for sponsorship
Start with friends and family then branch out to your sports/youth groups and even teachers/tutors/work colleagues.

Carry sponsor forms everywhere you go
Take advantage of every opportunity! But remember to only collect from people you know and trust. Keep track of everyone who has donated as well as those who have said they will donate.

Spread the word
Post a message to your friends about your fundraising event on Facebook or other social networking groups (but be safe online!)

Get everyone involved
Tell everyone what you’re doing and give updates on your progress, especially if they have donated.

‘FUN’draising
Make your activity/event as much ‘FUN’ as you can. People are more likely to get involved and remember it.

Ask a family member or your/their place of work to match what you raise
This will give you an extra incentive to raise as much as you can.

Publicity
If you are organising a local event that may be of public interest or something out of the ordinary, contact your local paper, radio or TV station. Contact our press officer on 0121 212 6012 or email press@childliverdisease.org for more info.

Online shopping
Use Easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/cldf to shop online and CLDF will receive a percentage of the total at no extra cost to you.

Special day donations
Ask for donations instead of gifts for your birthday, christmas, transplant anniversary and encourage others to do so on their special days.

“Thank you” goes a long way
Always remember to thank everyone who has contributed to your fundraising – they are more likely to help again in the future.

And finally…
LET US KNOW! We love to hear about your fundraising plans and there may be ways we can help. Contact the fundraising team at fundraising@childliverdisease.org or call/text 0121 212 6022
