I'm 16 and Male
I have Auto Immune Liver Disease - Sclerosing Cholangitis, I also have Ulcerative Colitis
I was 7 years old
I cant remember a lot, except the fact I was really ill and spent time in hospital before I was diagnosed
I was told by the Doctors after lots of tests
Until about six months ago my symptoms were non existent after just under ten years of being well.
Recently I have had a relapse and am finding school work and my GCSEs hard work
Im on Ursodeoxycholic Acid and Azathioprine
I go every three months between my local hospital and my specialists in Birmingham
My doctors are very descriptive and explain things well and in a way I can understand
There is nothing good about having a liver condition, as it is making my life difficult and is affecting my future as I am struggling to keep up with school work at an important time
I think about how well I am going to be in the future and how it is going to affect my life in the long run
After being in hospital seeing seriously ill newborn babies, its made me think that there is always going to be some one worse off
