I'm 12 and female
I have Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency
I was 2 weeks old
I didnt really know about it and I dont remember
The doctors told my mum and dad after some tests
It doesnt affect me much; Im lucky its not bad at the moment. It was bad when I was little; I have a slight yellow tint on my teeth
Yes lots of vitamins :)
I go for appointments every year or two and check ups at the local doctors every now and then
I get tests (injections) and I get weighed, I have had biopsies in the past
The good things are that it means you can meet lots of people through having it and it makes you aware.
The bad things are that its life threatening and it gets annoying taking medication every day
I worry about it getting any worse but I cant worry I need to live life to the full :)!
I have made friends with lots of other people!
Keep Strong Guys :) x
