I'm 12 and female

What is your liver condition?

I have Biliary Atresia

How old were you when you was diagnosed?

I was 8 weeks old

How did you feel?

I'm not sure, I can't remember

How were you told?

I was told by my parents, but I don't remember it

How does it affect you?

It doesn't bother me much apart from when I can't do certain things for example, at school once I knew better than to belly flop on the trampoline!!!

Are you on any medicines?

I take Ketovite tablets, liquid and Menadiol.
Not so long ago they stopped making Ketovite and I had to take Apidec, it was VILE!!!!

How often do you go to appointments?

I go once or twice a year

How are you treated there?

It’s fine, but there are too many doctors at a time in one room. It's scary and they’re all asking me questions!!!!!!

What are the good and bad things about having a liver condition?

One good thing is that I don't drink (alcohol). It means I don't harm myself like some people who drink every day!!!
The bad things are getting blood taken, I hate it!!! It really hurts and once they forgot to do a test and I had to get it taken again!

Does anything worry you about having a liver condition?

Well....Like doing things that involve your stomach and well maybe this is just me but I always get itchy around my scar! Weird!!!
