13 and Female.

What is your liver condition?

I have Auto Immune Liver Disease.

How old were you when you was diagnosed?

I was 10 years old.

How did you feel?

I was upset and shocked because my skin and eyes turned yellow.

How were you told?

I was told by my consultant, and I had to go to King's College Hospital where all the doctors are great!

How does it affect you?

At the moment I don't really like it because it's brought on Ulcerative Colitis and Osteoporosis in my spine due to long term steroid medication.

Are you on any medicines?

LOADS!

How often do you go to appointments?

Approx. every 3 months and weekly blood tests.

How are you treated there?

I'm treated like i'm special.

What are the good and bad things about having a liver condition?

I don't really think about the good and bad things I just get on with it and take each day as it comes.

Does anything worry you about having a liver condition?

I worry that it will get worse.

Have you got any messages for other young people with a liver condition?

You are not the only one. Keep taking your medication, and don't worry too much about it if you can. You will have good days and bad.
