Auto Immune Liver Disease

How old were you when you was diagnosed?

I was diagnosed with liver disease at primary school after I kept falling asleep before starting my SAT’s. I also had nose bleeds, so I was sent to hospital and they noticed that I was yellow. My local hospital referred me to king’s college hospital in London

How did you feel?

I felt worried and scared because I didn’t know at that time how serious it was but I had a biopsy done and a camera and I found out it wasn’t really bad

How were you told?

I was told by the doctor at Kings College Hospital

How does it affect you?

It doesn’t really affect me

Are you on any medicines?

I take azathioprine and prednisolone and I also take calcium carbonate tablets. I used to be on vitamin k but I have been off that for a while now

How often do you go to appointments?

I go every 2 months at the moment

How are you treated there?

I have my bloods taken because my tablets are being reduced slowly
