I am 13 and female

What is your liver condition?

I have Auto Immune Liver Disease

How old were you when you was diagnosed?

I am 13 now and have only had this problem for a couple of months

How did you feel?

I feel ok really, I am living with it and me and my family take things day by day… that is the best way to do things

How were you told?

I was told by my doctor but then my mam had to explain things even more to me because I didn’t really know what they were on about

How does it affect you?

Well it affects me but I deal with it because there is nothing else I can do

Are you on any medicines?

I am steroids and some tablets and liquid medicines

How often do you go to appointments?

Well I have to go for weekly blood tests and then every three months to see my liver doctor

How are you treated there?

Well they tell me how I am doing and what needs to be done in order to get my medication stable

What are the good and bad things about having a liver condition?

Well the bad thing is I can not drink with my friends and I can not go near them if they have a cold or something.
The good thing is it is very rare and I like being the only one I know around my area with my condition

Does anything worry you about having a liver condition?

Yer but you can not worry too much

Don’t be embarrassed to say about your condition, just let it out. On this website everyone is so kind and supportive to you because others will have the same problem as you so will understand
